In honor of Allan “Peanut” Sanders
Allan Arnett Sanders, lovingly known as “Peanut” by his family and many friends, passed away on September 12th, 2025 comfortable and cared for at Embrace Hospice House.
Peanut was born on December 14th, 1955 in Conway, South Carolina where he proudly called home for the rest of his days. He is predeceased by his father, mother, and brother, Willie Joe and Sally Sanders, and Willie Joe (Joey) Sanders II. He was widowed by his loving wife, Charlotte Kay (Hughes) Sanders in November of 2022. Peanut is survived by two sisters, Jennie Morgan and Mae Jordan. He leaves behind his children, Jonathon Sanders and Alicia Gamble, as well as his beautiful grandchildren Sydney Faye, Gabriel Conray, Reese Michelle, and Caleb Allan. He will be missed, also, by his cousins, his many nieces and nephews, and a whole generation of kids he helped to raise.
His early career life was spent as a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic but he preferred his time off working with the boy scouts as a mentor. After being disabled, he enjoyed his time as a “house husband” being pampered by his family and cooking giant pots of chicken bog and catfish stew. Peanut was always happiest surrounded by family and friends telling jokes, singing over a banjo, walking around a car show, or pulling a bass out of the Waccamaw River.
He was a man with an incredibly big heart and a spark of humor that will be forever remembered by all that enjoyed his overwhelming energy, charisma, and love. A memorial service will be held at Waccamaw Church - Christian Family Worship located at 508 SC-90, Conway SC 29526 on Saturday, October 18th at 2:00 pm with fellowship to follow. All are welcome to attend.
Cremation Services Direct (843-651-1194(0 of Myrtle Beach is assisting the family with arrangements.
