Allen Orville Ostgaard Allen was born at home to Emma and John Ostgaard in Climax, Minnesota , November 21st, 1930. Allen grew up on a farm with his 8 brothers and sisters. He spoke often and shared all the good times they had as children growing up on the farm. Allen was a jack of all trades, always able to fix anything, build anything and solve any problem, that was put in front of him, with a smile on his face. Allen moved to Milwaukee after graduating high school and worked there a few years before joining the air force, during the Korean war. Allen was stationed in German for most of his tour, as a prop mechanic. He was proud to tell us the stories of working on Ehsenours plane, and all the good times he had with his air force brotherhood. Allen met his wife of over 63 years while stationed in Germany, they married December 25th, 1954. They moved back to the States in July of 1955 where they lived in Milwaukee, later moving to Hartford and retiring to Wisconsin Dells. Al and Rose raised 4 children, Liane, Roy, Brian and Cheryl. As well as helped to raise their wonderful grandchildren; Peter, Buffy, Timmy, Troy and Ginny. They were so proud of all of them and loved to spend as much time with them in their retirement as they could. Allen worked for over 30 years and retired from Kohls Food Stores in Milwaukee Al and Rose loved to camp in their RV and traveling around the country. They settled in at their favorite place..Christmas Mountain in Wisconsin Dells. They loved driving their golf cart, swimming and visiting with the neighbors. They spent many winters in warmer weather with son Roy and his family and spent the last 2 years with Cheryl and Wade in Myrtle Beach. Allen passed peacefully at home,, just shy of his 90th birthday Thursday, November 5th, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by, daughter Liane (Dave) Brimble, Son Roy (friend Lisa), Daughter Cheryl (Wade) O’Bryon. Granddaughters Buffy (Tony) Santoes, Virginia (Billy) Hoyle, Grandsons Timmy (Steph) Ostgaard and Troy Ostgaard, Great Grand children Colin, Quinten, Miata and Chance. Many nieces and nephews, Sister Darlene Blokzyl, and sister in law Ada Ostgaard. He was proceeded in death by His wife Rose, his parents Emma and John Ostgaard, son Brian Ostgaard and grandson Peter Brimble. As well as his Brothers Irvin, Morris, Vernon, John, Carl and sisters Jane and Peral Allen will be greatly missed by everyone. He was a wonderful father, brother and friend, to everyone he met. We thank all of our friends for all the love and support while we cared for our wonderful parents. The family is planning a celebration of life this summer in Wisconsin.
