Barbara Virginia Westlake, 81, passed away at her home on October 24, 2024, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving husband, daughter, and cherished pets.

Barbara was born in Dover, New Jersey on December 4, 1942.  She was the daughter of the late Guido and Felice Petrocco, and the sister and dearest friend of the late Ernestine Scharlat.

Barbara grew up in Boonton, New Jersey and eventually settled in that same town sharing her life with her husband and raising their two children. She made a career in banking and worked at the same bank in the town of Boonton for over 20 years.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Joseph Anthony Westlake, her son Joseph Edward Westlake, his wife Gina, and 5 grandchildren, her loving devoted daughter Kristine Marie Westlake, and the late Lisa Marie Hudson, whom she loved as her own.

Barbara is also survived by her brother-in-law Donald Scharlat, niece Kerry Bruscia, her husband Cory and their children Max and Olivia, nephew Lawrence Scharlat and his children Anna and Nicholas.  Sister-in-law Diana Espanet, her husband Bill and their children, sister-in-law Maryann Yunitis, her husband John and her children, and her dear friend of many years Nancy Festa.  Barbara was Aunt Bobbi to all her nieces and nephews and loved them all dearly.

Barbara’s final wish was not to have a service, she wanted to be remembered for the life that she lived and the love that she gave and the memories that she created with her family and friends.  She loved to cook and bake, sew, and craft, she liked to read books, and was an animal lover.
