Charlotte Lynne Clements Obituary

Charlotte Clements, 79, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on Monday, September 15th.

Charlotte was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, and was the child of Dorothee and Bob Brandberg. She attended Mount Aloysius College, obtaining an associate’s degree in occupational therapy, later attending the University of Pittsburgh and earning her bachelor’s degree with a specialization in hand therapy.

She worked with many Healthcare providers in the Western PA area, including the VA, AOT, and Butler Hospital. Her love of helping and caring for others contributed to her success in her career, and caregivers in the region would often refer patients to her for hand therapy.

Charlotte is proceeded in death by her husband, James Clements, with whom she raised children Darla Glauser and Bill Clements in the Slippery Rock, PA community. Charlotte was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed kayaking on Slippery Rock creek, swimming, badminton, and exercising at the recreation center, as well as taking long walks. She often carried treats for dogs on the walks, and while she walked quickly considering her short stature, she was always willing to stop and talk with friends. She was known for coordinating and planning travel, theater events, group outings, entertainment and games.

Charlotte moved to Myrtle Beach SC in 2023 to be closer to her daughter Darla. She loved her new home in Kingston Plantation, the fitness center, her proximity to the beach and quickly felt at home. She made friends wherever she went, so she quickly established a network of support in the Myrtle Beach community. She loved the ocean, family, friends, exercising, walks, and God. She particularly enjoyed water aerobics with a group called “The Mermaids.” She celebrated her faith at Ocean View Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering and participating in classes the church provided.

She was a loving parent, grandparent, sister, aunt, cousin, co-worker, and a friend that always cared more about relationships than material possessions. She brought her good nature, joy, and positive energy to all her activities. Her light, boundless energy, and her engaging smile will be missed in this world.
