David Andre Larsen, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on February 18, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, David was a proud graduate of South High School in Grand Rapids and a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served his country with honor and courage.

A skilled mechanic and sound engineer, David was known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. He found joy in the simple things—fishing, hunting, and most of all, spending quality time with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment with them.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Maryellen; his children, Stephanie (Mike) Mathieu, David (Michelle) Larsen, and Andrea Larsen-Mlejnek (Scott); and his cherished grandchildren, Haily Christie, Lily Roussey (Cameron), Thomas Christie, Nolan Mathieu, Parker Christie, Jaxen Larsen, and Gianna Larsen; and one great-grandchild on the way. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Norine Conrad Larsen, and his siblings Yvonne Alder, James Jr., Richard, Kendall, Darrell, Marcia Lehman, Michael, and Allan.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd at 1:00 at the American Legion, 9548 Cherry Valley Ave SE, Caledonia, MI 49316. Well wishes and cards may be sent to Maryellen and the family at 10225 W Parmalee Rd, Middleville, MI 49333. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
