David Alfred Shults, beloved husband, friend and father passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, with his wife Lisa Shults lovingly by his side.  He was 73 years old, born October 20 ,1951 to the late Robert Alfred Shults and Katherine Hovis Shults of Lincolnton NC. 

His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and all those whose lives were touched by him.  Those that knew David will remember him for his overwhelming ability to make them laugh as he was a master joke teller.  He loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees

David was born and raised in Lincolnton NC and attended Lincolnton High School.  He enjoyed coaching optimist football and volunteering within his community, following his retirement from Southeastern Freight Lines in Hickory NC, David and Lisa, his wife of 28 years, relocated to Murrells Inlet, SC where they have enjoyed spending their lives with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; brother Roger Shults and wife Nancy, children Wendy Shults, Heather Shults, Stephanie Turner and husband Brian, and Brad Shults, all of Lincolnton NC;  Amber Brown and husband Donny, of Charlotte NC; and Nicholas Lear and wife Tabatha of Myrtle Beach SC.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.  Everyone that knew and loved David is welcome to attend.
