Diana “Diane” Lynn Myers was born March 31, 1957, in Georgetown, SC. She was the first child of Herman Singleton Sr. and Albertine Herriot.

In her early years, Diane was raised by her special Aunt Evelyn Alston. She was also blessed with two bonus moms the late Hatti Mae Singleton & Florence Singleton. Diane accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Greater Gordon Chapel AME until becoming sick. She also attended Mount Moriah Baptist church in Charleston, SC.

Diane received her formal education through Georgetown, SC School District. She later married Staff Sargent Franklin Myers. They raised four children. Diane worked many jobs throughout her life however pride herself on being the neighborhood babysitter. Diane is a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She adored spending time with her grands and great grands. Diane loved reading novels, crossword puzzles, cooking and crocheting/knitting.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Tonya & Wonda Herriot, brother Kenneth (Ester) Harrell and granddaughter Elise Oakley. Diane leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, her beloved children Iashia Singleton, Durham, NC; Yeakia Johnson, Ladson, SC; Franklin Myers, Myrtle Beach, SC, Marquet Myers, Myrtle Beach, SC; siblings Curtis Singleton, NJ; Herman Singleton Jr., Myrtle Beach, SC, Quentin (Tanya) Singleton, Alfred (Vernell) Singleton, Murrells Inlet, SC, Marvin Singleton, Charlotte, NC, Precilla Singleton, Murrells Inlet, SC, Roderick (Ruth) Vantry, Orlando, FL, Torrence Vantry Troy NY, Sharon (David) Herriott Forest Austell, GA , Walter Herriott, Jr. San Diego, CA and Angela (Darryl) Daniels, GA; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and friends.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00pm Eastern Standard Time, at Greater Gordon Chapel AME Church, 4581 Old River Road, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.  The zoom number for the service is 427-510-6985
