Doris Rosalie Scott

Doris Rosalie Scott, 90, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Avoca Bath, N.Y., passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021. Born in Avoca, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Harry Rundell and Maude Nichols Rundell.

Surviving are daughters, Rose Stratton (John) of Bath, N.Y., Denise Santacrose (Steve) of Myrtle Beach, Tammy Abrams of Myrtle Beach, son, Brian Scott (Tammy) (Fiance Amanda) of Painted Post, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Cher Scott of Hammondpost, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five great great- grandchildren; sisters, Viola Gardner (Billy) of Naples, FL, Eileen Hoskinson (Lloyde) of Bolivar, MO; and a brother, Frank Rundell of Wallace N.Y.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by son, Robert Scott; son-in-law, Ron Abrams; brothers, James and Norman Rundell; sister, Elma Rundell Hadley; former husband, Burrell Scott; and companion of 17 years, George Washburn.

Doris loved to play Corn Hole, Bunco, Bingo, Cards, watching the NY Yankees, Nascar (Jeff Gordon), Buffalo Bills football, yard saling and bird watching. She enjoyed attending her grandchildrens sporting events and most of all time with her family.  Doris’ heart was filled with love for all her children, grandchildren, and friends that were like family to her. Even when Doris was not feeling up to doing much she was always wanting to go places and when she was ready to go she was ready. All that shopped with her knows what I mean.

The family wishes to thank Horry County Fire and Rescue, the staff at Grand Strand Medical Center and PCU, 2 South Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.  Details will be provided closer to time of celebration.
