Dorothy Cunningham (nee) Messina passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, at age 84, at the home of her son Keith in Conway, South Carolina.
She was born on December 03, 1940, in Manhattan, NY, to the late Guido and Rose Messina. Dorothy grew up in Lodi, NJ before marrying William Cunningham on April 20, 1963, moving with him to Hamburg, NJ.

 Dorothy and Bill lived for more than 50 years in Hamburg, raising their sons Keith and Kevin, where they made lifelong friends with people in their community and church. As an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Franklin, NJ, Dorothy was a Eucharistic Minister and was honored for her years of dedication and service. She was also a proud member of the Sussex County Democratic Committee.

Dorothy was a secretary for 30 years at the Hamburg Elementary School, where she was well loved by the students and faculty. 
Dorothy was always full of life and loved gathering with family and friends. She loved holidays, making Sunday dinners for the family and enjoying her grandkids.
She and Bill loved going to the casinos in Pennsylvania, New York and Atlantic City, and enjoyed several trips to Europe.
Above all, Dorothy loved and was devoted to her family. She was at the center of all celebrations and gatherings.

She was predeceased by her husband William in 2019. She is survived by her siblings, Bill Messina and his wife Rosalie, Carol Molnar and her husband Wayne of Florida, and Paul Messina and his wife Nancy of Massachusetts, her sons Keith Cunningham and his wife Kate of SC, Kevin Cunningham and his wife Sue of Florida, and her grandchildren, Jessica Taylor and her wife Charlotte Jones, Camille, Colette, Ian and Natalie Cunningham.

Dorothy was immensely loved and will be sadly missed.
