Douglas Todd Bechtel passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born in Erie, PA on August 1, 1968. 

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Angelique Bechtel, a son, Michael Hopkins (Jessica), of Elon, NC, a daughter, Kassi Hall (Alex), of North Wilkesboro, NC, sister, Tracy Fesko (Lee Eric), of Franklin, TN, and his mother & father, Susan & Jack Bechtel, of Franklin, TN. Also, several nephews and nieces, two grandsons, Hunter and Colt, brother-in-law, Mark Lane (Nancy), of Sanford, NC, sister-in-law, Rebecca Schaub-Lane of Mebane, NC, and Uncle Ronald Logan, Ransomville, NY. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Ruby and David E. Fye and Pauline and Earl Bechtel, Aunt Donna Logan, Uncle Dave and Aunt Jeanne Fye, Aunt Helen Bechtel, and brother-in-law, Barry Lane.

Doug graduated from Williams High School, Burlington, NC, and attended Alamance Community College. He loved playing and coaching soccer in his younger years. He owned and operated a satellite installation business; he was recently employed by Mueller Reports.

Doug was very good-hearted. He loved to help other people. Even when he didn’t have much himself, his heart always went out to the down-and-out.
 
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on August 2, 2025. Please inquire with a family member for further details.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a GoFundMe to support his wife, Angel, and help ease her financial burden of this unexpected expense. It will assist with immediate needs related to funeral costs, support time off from work, and give her space to heal from the sudden loss without financial pressure.
