Dr. Albert Joseph Scarchilli

Dr. Albert Joseph Scarchilli was born on October 2, 1933 to Benedetto and Ada Scarchilli in Detroit, Michigan. He returned to his heavenly home on May 15, 2022 at 88 years of age.

Albert lived an amazing and fruitful life, touching and healing thousands of lives as a father, grandfather, friend and a great physician.

Albert was a high school graduate of the Henry Ford Trade School, began the University of Michigan pre-med program at only 16 years of age, and earned his medical degree from Kirksville College of Medicine and Surgery. At 25 years old, he started his own family practice, The Farmington Medical Center, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and successfully treated and healed thousands of patients over his 42 years of practice. Albert, or Dr. S as all his patients called him, had a gift for understanding medicine and healing. He was innovative in his thinking and he would do anything he could to help his patients.

In 1966, Albert met the love of his life, Suzanne Whalen, on a blind date and six months later they were married. He enjoyed 37 years of marriage to his best friend. Together, they had three children; Alicia (Nate) Fata, Chris Scarchilli, and Allan (Jenny) Scarchilli, 11 grandchildren; Nate, Connor and Ella Fata, Lucas, Miah, and Amelia Scarchilli, and Lexi (Tyler) Wooten, Johnny, Rachael, Christian, Sammy Scarchilli, and great-granddaughter, Maylee Wooten. He is predeceased by his wife, Sue, his parents, and his sister, Mary. Poppa, as he was fondly called by his grandchildren, will be greatly missed and his life will be cherished forever! He was truly an amazing man!

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 21 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Pawleys Island, SC.
