Earl Gordon Mooneyhan Obituary

E. Gordon Mooneyhan, 68, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and formerly of Redding Connecticut, passed away at his home on October 12, 2025.


Gordon was born May 22, 1957, in Redding Connecticut to the late R. Earl Mooneyhan and Vivian Grace (Mastrony) Mooneyhan.


He is survived by several cousins and brothers at the Seaside Lodge, as well as close friends and neighbors.


Gordon enjoyed writing, photography, ham radio, trains, writing books about friends, and was the author of Railroad Dining Car Cookbooks. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Coastal Carolina University.  He was a member of the Seaside Mason’s Lodge #419, Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club, and volunteered at the EOC during emergency situations.


There will be a memorial service held at the Seaside Masonic Lodge at 905 Highway 501 Myrtle Beach, SC 29579 on Saturday November 1, 2025, at 12:00 noon.


The family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club 2734 Beaver Run Road, Suite B #20, Surfside Beach, SC 29575.


The family would like to give special thanks to his dear friend Janet for her assistance and kindness.
