Elinor Harrison Kimmer, 93, of Conway SC, formerly of East Longmeadow, MA, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2019. She was born in Naugatuck, CT, the daughter of late Samuel and Lena Harrison, graduating from Naugatuck High School in 1944.
Elinor was predeceased by her late husband of 55 years, George E Kimmer, Sr.
She lovingly raised her family and, later on, went on to be employed by Roberts & Perry Oil Company. She was a positive- thinking, kind-hearted woman and always had a smile on her face. Her motto was “Always try to find something to be happy about and be grateful for each day”. Elinor’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, relaxing by the campfire, playing cards and enjoying all the special moments together. Her heart was overflowing with love.
Elinor was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and caring friend. She was a ray of sunshine to all of those who had the honor of knowing her and will be missed greatly. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Janice Kimmer Pease Dunn of Conway SC, son, George E Kimmer, Jr., four grandchildren, Lynn, Jeanette, Katie and Suzi, and six great grandchildren, who loved her dearly and had great fun with her , as well as many nieces and nephews. Elinor was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Larro, granddaughter Laura Morrisino and her sisters, Dorothy Widuch and Gladys Soliwocki, brothers, Stanley Harrison, S Edward Harrison, William Harrison, Leonard Harrison and Robert Harrison.
We would like to thank Embrace Hospice Home of Myrtle Beach, who made Elinor’s life and our own so much more comfortable.
Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
