Elizabeth Jones Alley, 84, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025.  Born in Marietta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Carrie Louise (Wilmouth) Jones.

Elizabeth loved the beach and was fortunate to spend her final year living her best "beach life" in South Carolina.  She especially enjoyed watching the waterbirds and colorful sunsets over the pond at her coastal home each evening and sharing pictures with her friends and family.  Earlier in her life, she worked several positions in the Douglas County Georgia Sheriff's Department and retired after proudly serving as the first constable for the Department.  She was also formerly a member of the National Sheriff's Association.

She is survived by her son, John David Alley and his wife, Merlie of Whitesburg, GA; daughters, Elizabeth Alley Miller and her husband, Michael of Douglasville, GA, Rebecca Alley Edgar of Little River, SC; Leslie Alley McDuff and her husband Nathan of Douglasville, GA; brother, Jerrell A. Jones of Canton, OH; sister, Stella J. Hill of Navarre, FL, and her beloved companion, Raymond Welsh, of Louisville, OH.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
