Eugene W. "MOSES" Collins, 68, of Myrtle Beach, passed away at home on January 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with health issues.
Born on July 31, 1956, in Bay Shore, New York, he was the son of the late John T. Collins Sr. and Patricia Marie Collins (née Read). Eugene grew up and resided in the Brentwood area of Long Island before relocating to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in 1995.
In his early years, he enjoyed great friendships, fishing, racing, and riding his Harley. When it came time to settle down, Eugene worked as an over-the-road truck driver before transitioning to a career as a paver.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 37 years, Laura Elliott, and his children: Crystal Zeliniski, Shane Zeliniski, Michael Zeliniski (Tabitha Chapin), and Eugene G. Collins. He was a proud grandfather to Matthew and Tanya Mainville, Timothy Linder, Isabella Elliott, Harley Elliott, and Gemma Elliott.
Eugene is also survived by his siblings: John T. Collins Jr. (Ruth), Kathleen Burns (Rich), Joanne DeGennaro (Rich), and Mary Lou Collins.
The family has chosen not to hold a service at this time but will honor Eugene’s memory in a manner that celebrates the much-loved man he was.
