George Billett

George W. Billett, 80, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died Monday, May 4, 2020 at his home.

George was born April 29, 1940 to the late George E. Billett and Ruby M. Schupp. George retired after 42 years of working for the Pittsburgh Press/Post Gazette and was also a lifetime member of the West Deer #3 station 290 where he served as Fire Chief for 35 years. He became a certified state fire instructor and was a mentor to many people in the fire services. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, boating and camping. George enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and attending bike rallies.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his son, Gregory A. Billett; two sisters, Nancy M. Pisarek and Susan Billett.

George is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deborah Kuepper Billett; one son, George W. (Laura)Billett; two stepchildren, Jasen (Erin) Vioral, Joe (Amy) Clark; four Grandchildren, Sarah Billett, Josie Billett, Ella G. Vioral and Ethan R. Vioral; one niece Teri (Bud) MacBlane; one nephew John (Melissa) Pisarek.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date.
