Obituary
George R. Taylor, age 80, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, passed away at his home Friday May 5, 2023, surrounded by his family.
George was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, January 4, 1943 to the late Wilfred & Florence Taylor. George was a resident of the Pittsburgh area for 62 years, before moving to Surfside Beach in 2005.
George is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Geraldine Taylor, a son, Richard and wife Leakhana Taylor of Surfside Beach, and grandson Austin Taylor also of Surfside Beach, and his twin sister Diane Hawkins and her husband Bill, of Mt. Pleasant South Carolina.
George was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, he was a hard worker, always willing to help others, a great husband, father, and grandfather. His grandson Austin was the light of his life.
