Gerard Edward Treacy Obituary
Gerard (Jerry) E. Treacy, age 82, of Little River, SC went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday April 11, 2026, after a long illness.
He fought the good fight, finished his race, and kept the faith.
He was the beloved husband of Deborah Alexander Treacy, beloved father of Gerard and Gregory Treacy and daughter Karen Buniewski.
Father-in-law to Jennifer Treacy and former father-in-law to Kimberly Blasenak-Treacy.
Grandfather of Kyle, Aidan, Adrian, Alexandra, Jacquelyn and Brian.
Brother of Ray Treacy, who honorably served in Vietnam, and sister-in-law Carol Treacy.
Predeceased by his parents Ray and Margaret Treacy, his dear brother Andy, and wonderful son-in-law Brian Buniewski.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and was always filled with joy to see them.
Jerry was born in Brooklyn NY on January 25, 1944, and raised in Long Island, NY. He attended St John’s University.
His banking career spanned several decades at Chase Manhattan, Chemical, and Manufacturers Hanover Bank.
He lived and worked in New York City, before moving to CT, PA, and Little River, SC.
Jerry was a warm, energetic, loving, hilarious, and outgoing “laughter is an instant vacation” kind of guy.
He enjoyed baseball (“Let’s go Mets!”), the horses at Belmont and Saratoga, walking his cairn terriers, his parakeets, crossword puzzles, spending time with friends and family, especially at local diners (Let’s go eat!”), church fellowship, Bible studies and prophecy conferences. He so enjoyed God’s creation and the folks who crossed his path.
Romans Chapter 5 and 8 and 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 were very special to him.
He was an avid golfer, and his career highlight was achieving a hole-in-one at Martin County Golf Course. His warm presence and fun-loving spirit will always remain with those who knew him. He was the wind beneath our wings.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.
