Harlan J Cook, better known as “Jimmy” met the world in Chowchilla California June 1, 1954, and said goodbye March 9, 2025.
Jimmy is the fourth youngest of his 14 brother and sisters and lived his life with a positive and adventurist attitude. His spirit was always one of laughter and kindness to others. He enjoyed giving and was always thinking of what he could give to those in need and to those “just because”. He never needed a reason to give. He just gave from his heart.
Jimmy leaves two surviving daughters Terra Coakley and Mandy Cook along with his 5 grandchildren, Pamela, Jack, Loni, Jade and David and 2 great grandchildren. Jimmy leaves 9 of his surviving brothers and sisters Troy and Patty, Roy, Bobby, Edward, Billy and Glenda, Jesse, Shirley, Charlotte and Tom, Sheila and a very large number of nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved dearly.
Jimmy was often found as a young boy on the baseball field in Chowchilla and later in life on the golf course. He played golf courses across the waters in his travels, The Pocono Mountains, and the various courses throughout NJ where he resided for more than 20yrs. He retired to his dream golf town Myrtle Beach and this past November 2024 he experienced his first “Hole-In One” that he was very proud of.
Jimmy lived his life always pushing to be better and willing to teach and help others to grow in their own skin, while never forgetting where he came from. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and by his four-legged companion Willie.
To honor Jimmy’s request there will not be a memorial service. Instead, we ask that you honor him by paying it forward. Whatever gift he has bestowed on you in his lifetime, pass on the act of kindness, education, support, laughter and love that he gave us all so freely. This will allow his spirit to live on touching lives and making a difference in the world he leaves behind.
To my dearest, my cup runneth over. BeLinda
