His parents and three siblings: Abraham Singleton, Alice Besellieu and John Singleton, one son, Kenneth Harrell and one granddaughter Elise Oakley preceded him in death.
Herman was married to the late Hattie Mae Singleton until her demise. To this union they were blessed with 8 children.
In 1985 he was joined in holy matrimony to Florence V. Singleton. They enjoyed a long loving marriage for the past 38 years until Wednesday, May 8th an angel arrived, and lovingly touched him, a guiding light leading him to the Garden of Serenity.

As an adult, Herman worked in restaurants of Murrells Inlet, where he collected, harvested and sold shell--fish. After mastering the trade, he decided to become an independent entrepreneur and sold locally “The Shrimp Man”.
Herman joined Greater Gordon Chapel at an early age. A man of few words, that expressed his love for God through his life living: humble, and obedient.
