James Thomas Aitchison Obituary

James T. Aitchison, 80, of White Plains, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 24, 1945, in Port Chester, New York, he was the son of William and Marjorie Aitchison. James lived a life defined by hard work, service, and a love for his family.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, James honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as an auto mechanic in Larchmont.

James found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with family and dog Emme, listening to music, reading and taking small road trips. His laughter, steady presence, and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved spouse, Kimberly Spraitz; his daughters Lisa (Robert) Coppola, Stephanie (Keith) Cundall and Yvette Crakaal. James was the proud grandfather of Bobby, James, Emily, Amanda (Kendall), Casey (Paul) and Thomas, and great-grandfather to Gracelynn, Noah, Asher, and Beckett.

He is also survived by his siblings Carol, Colin, and Mary, and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his brother William.

His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace, and will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and dedication.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Cremation Services Direct (843-651-1194) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is assisting the family with the arrangements.
