James Michael Baker, 68, of Surfside Beach, SC, formerly of Abingdon/Bristol, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Mary Patricia Flanagan and Royce L. Baker.
Jim served our country in the United States Marine Corp.
Jim enjoyed racing cars, especially Pontiac GTO's, building engines and the beach. He enjoyed meeting every morning with his Veteran friends in their own "coffee club".
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Surfside Beach, SC; and his siblings David Maggard, Sharleen Carnes, Alicia Mills, Kim Friedlander, James Gordon Baker, and Travis M. Wasko.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister Mary Heath and niece, Jennifer.
