James Edwin Hicks, 40, of Conway, South Carolina, passed away on January 28, 2026. Born on January 2, 1986, in Greenville, Mississippi, he grew up surrounded by family who taught him the value of love, hard work, and faith.
James was an avid fisherman and hunter, and his best times were spent out on the water and in the woods with his family. Whether he was casting a line at first light or waiting quietly in a stand, he was happiest sharing those moments with the people he loved most.
He is survived by his loving wife, Courtney Hicks; his son, James Parker Hicks; and his daughter, Meena Hicks. He is also survived by his parents, Raymond and Julia Hicks of Greenville, Mississippi; his brother, Leon Hicks and wife Kim; his nephews; and his in-laws, Mike and Christy Davis of Conway, South Carolina, along with numerous friends who will miss him dearly.
Those who knew James will remember his easy smile, his steady presence, and the way his face lit up when he talked about his children or a good day outdoors. His legacy will live on in the stories shared, in the memories made on the water and in the woods, and in the hearts of all who loved him.
