James Duncan McClure Jr, passed away Friday, October 25th, 2024, surrounded by his
family. James was born in the North Georgia Mountains to James Duncan McClure and
Judith Wooten McClure on January 20th, 1963. James lived in many other places in Georgia
before moving to North Carolina to be employed as a supervisor at AEP industries for many
years. James made the decision to move to the beach where he would enjoy the rest of his
life. After facing many previous health issues, he was then diagnosed with cancer. He
fought a hard battle against cancer within the last year and was cared for by his ex-wife
Terry and daughter Sarah. James loved any Georgia sports team, especially, the Georgia
Bulldawgs! He even adapted a nickname “J Dawg” by his children and close ones. He
treasured his beloved dog Angel, who he is now at peace with. She was a true light in his
life. James is survived by his parents, his children Amber Estrada (husband Jesus) of
Georgia, Rebecca Faye McClure of North Carolina, and Sarah Elizabeth McClure of South
Carolina, his grandchildren Ansleigh, Natalie, and Kimberly, his brother Doug (wife Renae),
and sister Sherri (husband Mike) of Georgia. James enjoyed riding his Harley and attending
the annual Bike Weeks in Myrtle Beach. James will be missed my many and forever
cherished in our hearts. There will be a Celebration of life held in Matthews, NC at Cross
and Crown Lutheran Church, 300 Pineville-Matthews rd, Matthews, NC 28105 on January
25th, 2025 at 2pm.
