Myrtle Beach, SC – James “Jimmy” R Wren aka “Cracker Jack Jimmy Mack”, 64
Jimmy passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, September 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elise Grooms Wren and father, James David Richard Wren as well as, his sister, Karen Wren Domschke.
Jimmy was born in Columbia, SC, on June 22, 1959. He attended Columbia High School and obtained his GED in 1978. He was a master automotive mechanic specializing in radiator and air conditioning. He worked for St. Andrews Radiator Service for over twenty years. Jimmy loved boating, fishing, and camping on Lake Murray and the Saluda River for many years with friends. He also enjoyed crabbing, shrimping and oyster picking in St Helena Sound. He was an avid pool player, played many tournaments and at times a pool “shark” taking down many a player who would try to win at the table. Jimmy was an expert gardener and grew mouth-watering vegetables and fruit every year. Everyone loved him as if you were in need, he would give you the “shirt off his back”. He never knew a stranger.
Mr. Wren leaves behind a daughter, Jaimie Elise Wren of Myrtle Beach; son, James David Wren Sr. of Pennsylvania; sisters, Sandra Elise Wren of Lexington and Gail Norton of Columbia; a grandson, James David Wren, Jr. of Pennsylvania; nieces, Nicole King Addy of Lexington and Ashleigh Wren Shealey of St. Matthews. He leaves behind many great nieces and nephews as well. Special friends; Larry and Donna Wurtz and “partner in crime” Oscar. Beloved cat, Ruru of Columbia.

A private family celebration of life will be held in Lexington, SC and Macbeth, SC at a future scheduled date.
