Jeannetje (Janny) Maria de Bruijn, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at her home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

Born on December 12, 1933, in Middelburg, Netherlands, Janny lived a life defined by love, family, and strength. In 1965, she led her family to the US, settling in Manassas, Virginia where they embraced new opportunities and built a life centered on family and hard work. 

Janny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Case; her granddaughter, Lauren; and her great-grandson, Maverick.

She is survived by her sons, Case (Karla) and Paul (Beth), four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. 

Known affectionately as “Oma,” she brought immense joy to all who knew her.  Her love was expressed through her unwavering support, guidance, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her. 

She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family, being outdoors at the beach or on a boat.  She also had a soft spot for any animal and child she came across.  

Oma’s legacy lives on through her family, kindness, resilience, and generosity. She will be remembered, greatly missed and forever held in the hearts by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at 2408 Gist Lane, Myrtle Beach SC 29588, Friday June 5, 2026, from 3 pm to 7 pm. We invite family and friends to stop by at any time during that gathering and share memories, stories, laughter and love as we honor her life and the lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter or rescue organizations in honor of Janny's love for animals.
