Jerry Lee Binder, 79, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026.

Born in Fremont, Ohio, Jerry was the son of Leopold and Kathryn (Jaqua) Binder. He pursued his education at Indiana State University, earning a bachelor’s degree that would become the foundation for a successful and dynamic career.

Jerry began his career in manufacturing management before transitioning into project management, where he spent the final 25 years of his career with Dell Technologies. A respected leader and mentor, he retired in 2017 after building a legacy of professionalism, innovation, and dedication. Passionate about sharing knowledge, he also taught purchasing and supply chain at The University of Texas at Austin and served as President of the Purchasing Association in Austin, reflecting his expertise and leadership in the field. 

Jerry had a deep love for travel and exploration. Whether cruising or flying across the globe, he embraced every opportunity to experience new destinations, including Peru, Africa, China, Ireland, Scotland, England, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Germany - the list goes on... He cherished the beauty and diversity of the world, but even more so, he treasured the people he met along the way. Jerry had a remarkable gift for connecting with others—listening to their stories, building friendships, and leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.

Known for his positivity, curiosity, and drive for personal growth, Jerry was a natural-born leader who inspired those around him. He believed in continuous learning and self-improvement, values he shared generously with family, friends, colleagues, and students.

Jerry enjoyed golfing and never passed up the chance to relax with a well-made Manhattan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and embracing each moment life had to offer.

In 2021, Jerry and his beloved wife, Dorothy, relocated from Austin, Texas, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There, they found a home by the ocean, where they enjoyed countless beautiful sunrises and sunsets together.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Kathryn Binder, and his brothers, Birdell and Kenneth “Kenny” Binder.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Nunn) Binder of Myrtle Beach; his children, Bryan Binder (Glenna) of Hawkins, Texas; Andrea Francisco (Steve) of Delaware, Ohio; Jessica Wagner (Jay) of Mansfield, Ohio; and Dawn Pittman of Myrtle Beach.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Abigail and Madelyn Francisco; Spencer Reynolds (Makaila); and Natalie and Nathaniel Binder; as well as his great-grandchildren, Everly and Colson Reynolds.

Jerry is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Jenny Rose (Bebow) Binder, widow of Kenneth “Kenny” Binder, and Marian Kay (Nuhn) Binder-Steen, wife of Don Steen and widow of Birdell Binder.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, LeeAnn Baker (Kevin), Tina Mitchell (Chuck), Randy Binder (Jill), Jason Binder, Steven Binder (Lag), and Diane Holcomb, along with many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year.

Jerry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his curiosity, friendship, leadership, and unwavering love of life and family.
