John Edward Fesko Jr., 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, on April 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Hackensack, New Jersey on September 17, 1948, John was the beloved son of John (Sr.) and Helen Fesko. He was raised in New Milford, New Jersey alongside his sister, Carol Wieder. From a young age, John was known for his sense of humor, kind heart, and genuine compassion for others—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
John met the love of his life, Christine, and together they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and dedication. After marrying, they moved to Vermont to begin their greatest adventure: raising a family. There, they welcomed and raised their three sons—Jonah, Gregory, and Benjamin—who brought immeasurable pride and joy to John's life.
Professionally, John dedicated 15 years of service to the Brandon Training School in Brandon, Vermont, where he worked as a Direct Support Professional and facility supervisor. His work supporting individuals with mental and physical handicaps was a reflection of his deep empathy and unwavering belief in the dignity of every person.
In 2003, John and Christine fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams by moving to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Not long after, John brought another dream to life when he opened his very own hotdog stand in Pawley’s Island—a place where he combined his love of food, fun, and friendly conversation.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Christine; his three sons and their wives: Jonah and Sara Fesko, Gregory and Jossely Fesko, and Benjamin and Jasmine Fesko; his cherished granddaughters, Audrey and Charlotte; and his beloved canine companion, Rosa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol Wieder.
John’s greatest accomplishments were his family, and his legacy lives on in the love and laughter they share. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, and the warmth he extended to everyone he met.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to a local organization supporting individuals with disabilities—a cause close to John’s heart.
Cremation Services Direct (843-651-1194) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is assisting the family with the arrangements.
