John Wesley Gill

September 1950-April 2026

John Wesley Gill, 75, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and compassion.

John was a devoted football coach and mentor who dedicated much of his life to guiding young people, especially those in the juvenile foster care system. His impact reached far beyond the field, touching the lives of countless individuals he helped shape and support.

He proudly served his country as a Major in the Georgia National Guard, demonstrating honor, dedication, and commitment throughout his military career.

John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Vickie Gill; his children, Heather (Robert), Kristin (Michael), Wesley (Naomi), and Mellie; his grandchildren, Macey, Noah, Sydney, Isabella, Wyatt, Addison, Anna, and Josie; and his great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Charlie and Brexton.

John will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
