Joy Lynn Oswalt, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, in Conway, South Carolina, surrounded by her loved ones. Joy Lynn was born on November 3, 1942, in Carrollton, Mississippi, to her loving parents, Odell and Rose Davidson.


She carried with her throughout her life the values of family, determination, and kindness that were instilled in her from an early age. Joy devoted over 50 years of her life to administrative work, including more than 30 years at Broadway Linen Service, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. She instilled these same values of hard work and perseverance in her children, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.


A devoted Christian, Joy was deeply committed to her faith and her church, Riverport Baptist Church. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and a source of strength and comfort to her. Joy loved traveling, especially to the mountains and the beach. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and devotion.


She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Chebetar of Spring, Texas, Christy Davis(Mike) of Conway, South Carolina, and Evelyn McGehee of Asheville, North Carolina; her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Patsy Davidson; her sister, Clara Coleman; her 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly


.Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Oswalt, parents, Odell and Rose Davidson; brother, Jerry Davidson; son Sidney Holleman III; and son-in-law, Paul Chebetar.


Her life was a testament to love, faith, family, and enduring strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
