Joyce McAuley, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 90. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Joyce’s life was marked by courage, resilience, and love.

Born on July 16, 1935, in North Wales, Joyce grew up during World War II, when her family opened their home to both American and British soldiers. Despite the challenges of those times, she thrived in school and athletics, excelling in badminton, tennis, and table tennis, and even swimming for the Welsh national team.

At the age of 21, Joyce made the bold decision to leave her family in Wales to begin a new life in the United States. She first settled in Brooklyn, New York, and later lived in various places along the East Coast, as well as abroad in Hong Kong. No matter where life took her, Joyce’s dedication to her family remained constant. She was the loving mother of three children—Philip (Rose), Susan, and Paul (Valerie)—and the proud grandmother of seven: Rachel, Megan, Sara Brynn, Brittany (Vince), Ryan, Kyle, and Catherine.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert George McAuley, a veteran of the Royal Air Force. Together, they built a family grounded in strength, love, and adventure.

In Cherry Hill, Joyce discovered a lasting passion for golf and enjoyed many wonderful years playing at Medford Village Country Club. She also gave generously of her time and spirit through numerous church outreach efforts, carrying her faith with her throughout her life and sharing it with others through kindness and compassion.

Joyce will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date.
