Joyce Faulkner Pruitt went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 30, 2024. She was born January 2,1938 in Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital and moved to Sherrills Ford, NC in 1995.
She was the daughter of the late Tom and Olia Faulkner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Philips.
She is survived by her faithful loving husband, Glenn Pruitt of Sherrills Ford, NC.; son, Terry Gaddy and his wife Mary Ann of Waxhaw, NC.; grandson, Eric Gaddy and his wife Jessica of Waxhaw, NC; great grandsons Michael Gaddy of Doylestown PA, Kaleb Veillet of Salisbury NC; daughter Susan Blackwell of Zephyrhills Fl, and granddaughter India Blackwell of Zephyrhills Fl.
Joyce graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1956 and was a member of the Beta club and National Honor’s Society.
She retired from area headquarters in Charlotte with Southern Bell in a management position with 30 years service. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America and was a past president of the Charlotte Independence Council.
Joyce loved to travel and has visited all the 50 states as well as many foreign countries and islands. But her favorite destination always remained the beaches of SC where she grew up dancing and making friends at the Old Myrtle Beach pavilion and later places at Ocean Drive.
As Joyce got older, she enjoyed being able to read and just sit and watch the ocean. Joyce loved her church family and had served on many communities and was lay delegate at Annual Conference for many years. As requested by Joyce there will be no formal service. But if you desire, a memorial may be made to Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, 4136 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Sherrills Ford, NC 28673 or to The Humane Society of your choice.
