Judith Anita DeBlasio

Judith Anita (Apfel) DeBlasio, age 66, passed away on June 20, 2022, at Embrace Hospice House. Judy was born in Schenectady, N.Y., daughter of the late Henry and Angeline (Scaccia) Gardiner. Judy was a graduate of Linton High School.  Married to Frederick Apfel (1979) and Larry "Skip" DeBlasio (2008). Judy had a passion for fashion and design which she applied to a successful craft business for many years.  Later finding joy in a number of different staff positions in the Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake School District.  Relocating to Florida in 2004 where she worked for Walt Disney World as a boat captain at the Magic Kingdom resorts until her glaucoma prevented her from working.  Judy moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 2017.  Judy was an avid shopper, a great cook and baker, and loved to keep in touch with her family and dear friends over the phone.

Left to honor her memory are her brother; Robert Gardiner (Mary), husband; Larry "Skip" DeBlasio, adopted child; Sabrina "Skyler"  DeBlasio, ex-husband; Frederick Apfel, and son; Frederick Apfel II (Jennifer). She is also survived by many cousins and extended family members. Thank you to Sherry (Kowalski) O'Connor as Power of Attorney in Judy's final days to ensure her comfort and care.  Thank you to the wonderful staff at Embrace Hospice House for their service and compassion.
