Katherine "Kitt" Davis Obituary

On August 12th, 2020 in Conway, South Carolina, at the age of 90, Kitt Davis succumbed to her illnesses after having lived a long and bountiful life filled with family, friends and love. Born in Mobile, AL, at the onset of the Great Depression in 1930 she was admired by all that knew her, and inspired us all to be better, love more, and forgive.

Kitt was proudest to have successfully raised four children, and especially that she was part of each one’s families as time went on. Five generations strong, spread across the country, and every last one of them were part of her bountiful loving life. Kitt spent memorable years raising her family in many states, having lived in Alabama, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Alaska, Texas and Michigan. Kitt knew diversity, and how to be the best at the two things that mattered most to her, family bond, and hard work. She had multiple successful careers and spent her last 15 years working part time and volunteering at Presbyterian Villa’s in Bradenton, Florida, where she lived, and receiving an award for her volunteer efforts, retiring just before her 90th birthday.

Kitt is survived by her four children; daughter Dotty Snyder and Tom Williams of Nashua, NH with grandchildren Michelle, David and Danielle and 7 great grandchildren; daughter Debbie and Mike McCale of Conway, SC with grandchildren Katherine, Dustin and Amanda, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson and 2 precious great-great granddaughters; son Wade and Kimie Davis of Sarasota, FL with grandchildren Alexis and Lukas; and son Norman and Maria Davis of Eagle River, AK with grandchildren Spencer, Schuyler and Shayden. Best Friend Betty Singleton Camp (Sister Baby Girl) of Bradenton, Florida.

Kitt lived a fulfilling life, was a cancer survivor, and always cared for others more than herself. God, hold this one close.

Kitt’s celebration will be held in the spring of 2021. More information will be announced.
