Kathy Lynn Mudd Obituary

Kathy Lynn Mudd, 71, of Garden City Beach passed away on June 24, 2024.  Born in Topeka, KS, she was the daughter of the late James and Marjorie McGuire.

Kathy was a junior high school and high school teacher for over 20 years in the Kansas City and surrounding area.  She had a lifelong love of the beach and enjoyed retirement there.  She would spend many days sitting on the deck doing crosswords and sudoku with her husband, Paul.  Kathy enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She began knitting later in life and enjoyed giving scarfs and potholders to friends and family.  Family was important to her, whether it be catching up at family functions or having her grandchildren stay the night with her.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Paul Mudd of Garden City Beach and Kansas City, MO; children, Nichole Erickson and her husband Randy, Melissa Bennett and her husband Russ, James Mudd and his wife Kellie; sisters; Michelle McGuire, and Erin Atwood; grandchildren, Grant, Vonn, Vivian, Charlie, Makayla, Brianna, Lucas and Amelia all from Kansas City, MO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James McGuire, and her mother-in-law, Mary Mudd.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date and will be held in Kansas City, MO.
