September 28,1944, in Riverdale, MD. He was the son of the late Joseph G. and Avon P.
Ciufolo. Ken leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Ruthie Ciufolo and beloved
sons, Anthony Ciufolo of Frederick, MD and Marc Ciufolo and daughter-in-law Darci of Lafayette
CO, his cherished grandsons Juliano Ciufolo of Frederick MD, Renzo and Leo Ciufolo of
Lafayette CO, sister, Joann Ciufolo of Bethesda MD, much loved brother-in-laws, Rick and
Bruce Kidwel, sister-in-law, Theresa Kidwell, and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his mother, father, sister, and two much loved nephews, Brent and Trevor
Kidwell.
Ken grew up in Adelphi MD, enlisted into the Air Force in 1962-1966 serving two years in
Alaska. He followed in his father’s footsteps to become a Lithographer and later in
sales/marketing. Ken lived in MD most of his life–Frederick County MD for 39 years; retiring to
Bethany Beach DE for 11 years and finally resting in Myrtle Beach SC for the past 4 years.
Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout much of his life. He loved music of many
genres, and the last song he requested to be played as he departed was “My Heart Will Go On”
by Celine Dion. One of his fondest memories in life was participating in a band in Alaska as
lead singer and lead guitar player. He had a beautiful singing voice. Ken, with his landscaping
partner, Ruthie, designed and planted many beautiful gardens throughout their lives together.
Truly believing “one is never nearer to God than in the garden!”
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 20, 2024, 11:00am at the Emmens Preserve Club House 1145 Yorkshire Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
