Kurt Alan Johnson, 64, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.  


Born on February 2, 1962, in Alexandria, Virginia, Kurt had a restless, adventurous spirit early in life. In his twenties he moved to Colorado for a short time before settling in Oklahoma, where he lived for nearly a decade. It was there that he met his first wife and became the father of two children, Kris and Heather.  


Later in life, Kurt moved to South Carolina, where he met and married Judy, his wife of ten years. Although they divorced, Judy remained a devoted and caring presence in his life and was by his side at the time of his passing.  


Kurt is preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Johnson, Sr., his mother, Barbara Ann Hoover, and his brother, John Wesley Johnson, Jr.  


He is survived by his children: Kris Johnson and his wife Kendra, and their sons Owen and Clark of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Heather Cordero and her husband Steven, and their children Keanu and Kai of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his sister Lynn Milholm; his brother Ken Johnson and his wife Michelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. 


Private arrangements are being handled by the family. In accordance with Kurt’s quiet nature, there will be no public service. His ashes will be scattered at a later time in a peaceful location.


Cremation Services Direct (843-651-1194) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is assisting the family with the arrangements.
