Malissa Cadle, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Aunt was taken too soon by cancer. Born March 4, 1951 in Charlotte, NC and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC, she died September 5, 2021 peacefully surrounded by family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 34 years Carl Joe Cadle Jr., son James Emanuel Busbee II, daughter-in-law April Anthony and granddaughter Kendall Anthony-Busbee. Malissa was also survived by her niece Stephanie Hobbs and children and nephew Stephen Hobbs, his wife Dara Hobbs, and children. She was preceded in death by her sister Ruthie Ballard and brother Lonnie Ballard.
Malissa loved listening to music, especially the Black Eyed Peas and Bob Segar, playing cards, predicting American Idol winners, butterflies and traveling with her husband and their beloved dog Jake in their RV. A pillar of the Myrtle Beach community, Malissa’s life was dedicated to making people happy through event and wedding planning. Her career included hundreds of events affecting thousands such as corporate events, golf tournaments, car races and her true pride of partnering with Brookgreen gardens for 30 years to ensure the success of all fundraising events including the well-known holiday Nights of a Thousand Candles. Clients followed Malissa wherever she worked and was known professionally for her easy to talk to style, ease of handling special requests and going above and beyond = all with a smile.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 17th at 3:30 p.m. at Cremation Services Direct located at 9506 SC-707, Myrtle Beach, SC. Attendees are requested to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to Brookgreen Gardens Memorial and Tribute Gifts/Brookgreen or your charity of choice.
