Margaret Pond

Margaret O. Pond of Myrtle Beach, SC and formally of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Embrace Hospice House. Born in Covington VA, Margaret was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy E. Cross O’Neil.

Margaret was avid at crocheting and was a small gift shop business owner. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her kitties.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alan Pond, a daughter, Margaret M. Gallagher and a brother, Thomas Donnelly.

Margaret is survived by a son, Hugh Joseph “Joe” Gallagher of Evansville, IN; two daughters, Kathleen “Kathy” A. Sexton of Myrtle Beach and Terese “Terri” Hilliard of Mechanicsburg, PA; three step children Karan Merewether and husband Patrick and their children of CO, Jeffrey Pond and wife Sandy and their children of WI, and Jonathan Pond and wife Jackie and their children of TN five grandchildren Megan Mayer and husband Nicolas of Savannah, GA, Ryan Sexton and wife Stephanie of Newburgh IN, Thomas Gallagher of TN, Sarah Bates and husband Warren Harrisburg PA and Jacob Hilliard of Mechanicsburg PA; great grandsons Garrett and Ethan of Newburgh, IN and great grand children Gavin and Ellie of Harrisburg, PA; five sisters, Jean Meehan and husband Charles, and Joan Lawrence of Perry County, PA, Judy Martin of Philadelphia, PA, Pat Durkin and husband Marty, and Kathy Zimmerman and husband Mark of NJ; and four brothers, Shawn Donnelly and wife Nicole of Philadelphia, PA, Daniel Donnelly and wife Linda of Bensalem, PA, Michael Donnelly and wife Sue of FL, and Billy Leary and wife Stephanie of TX.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Embrace Hospice House and Heartland Hospice Group and their staffs for their care of Margaret. Also, a special thank you is extended to Jean Meehan and Margaret Gallagher for their support.
