Margaret J. "Peggy" Todd Obituary

Margaret J. “Peggy” Todd (104)

September 29. 1921 – October 8, 2025

Margaret was born on September 29, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio.  During her time there, she met and married her husband, Harold Todd (Hal).  Peg and Hal lovingly raised five children; Margaret (Peg) Butler, Daniel (Adrienne/Gretchen), Barbara Leister (Roger), Michael (Pat), Jane Dawson (Mike).  She was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  Her family was her pride and joy.

After Hal’s retirement, they moved south to Calabash, NC, where she spent the next 35 plus years.  Peg was an avid golfer, boater and world traveler.  She was also a devout Catholic, dedicated parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, and most importantly did her best to live every day by the Lord’s word.

When asked her secret to such long and beautiful life, she always attributed it to three things:

LOVE of Family, DEVOTION to GOD and RED WINE.

There is no doubt that upon her death, Margaret joyously met the Lord and was reunited with her loving husband, Harold, her late daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Roger Leister, her late daughter-in-law Adrienne Todd and a deluge of cherished family members and friends who she made throughout her 104 years of life.

A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1100 8th Avenue, North, North Myrtle Beach, SC at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.  Following her service, all are welcome to attend a light lunch at the Carolina Shores Club House.

The family wishes to thank everyone who has spoken words of comfort, sent cards, and made this time easier.  Peg, Dan and Jane also give special thanks to our brother, Mike and sister-in-law, Pat for being Mom’s dedicated and loving caregivers over the past few years and during her final days on earth.  Additionally, we also send thanks to McLeod Hospice for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions in Mrs. Todds name to the American Cancer Society, online at https://donate.cancer.org
