Mark Kevin Gorman Obituary

Mark K. Gorman (69) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on January 14, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, as he crossed into Eternal Life.

He was born to the late Joseph W. Gorman and Phyllis A. (Warren) Gorman on May 12, 1955. He was raised in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Mark was preceded by his brothers Joseph “Jack” Gorman, Philip Gorman, and Michael Gorman, brother-in-law Michael Ottomanello, and sisters-in-law Glennis and Cynthia Gorman.

He thoroughly enjoyed working in theaters in greater Western Massachusetts, in his younger years.

Mark worked for All Right Tool and then was an Application Specialist at Pioneer Tool from 1986 to 2015 and Blackhawk Industrial from 2015 to his retirement, in 2019.

Mark is survived by the love of his life, Patricia Gosselin Gorman (25 years) of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and his daughters Jessica Gorman (her fiancé, Michael LaCasse) of Holyoke, MA, Kelly Gorman (her husband, Steve St. Pierre) of Shelburne Falls, MA, Briana Lebel of Chesterfield, NH and his sister Joyce Ottomanello of Ludlow, MA, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Mark was an honored Goalie for Chicopee Comprehensive’s Hockey Team and enjoyed many years playing with a Men’s Friday Night Hockey League. He truly loved playing golf and had six wonderful years playing regularly, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He volunteered his time, working with the Belchertown Band Boosters through his daughter’s high school years.

Mark was a true Irishman, who at any time could dazzle family and friends with magical tales.

Mark was always the life of the party, ready with a good joke. He was a great writer and storyteller. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking in the woods, discovering old foundations, and in his younger years, camping and boating with his children. Mark will be remembered for his Prime Rib, Shut Up and Eat It, and many other tasty dishes.

There are no funeral arrangements at this time. In the spring, a Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association will be gratefully accepted.
