Mark Stephen Mitchell, age 67, passed away Thursday June 13, 2024, at his home in Myrtle Beach with
his loving wife Christine by his side.
Mark was born March 7, 1957, in Boston MA, to Avard & Marjorie (Clock) Mitchell.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Christine, daughter Daniella Godina (Manny), Mother Marjorie
Mitchell, sister Susan Lewis, two brothers Dean Mitchell and his partner Kim Knox, and David Mitchell,
nephews Andrew Woodward (Kathleen), Christopher Woodward, and Joshua Park, along with an
extended family.
Mark was predeceased by his father Avard Mitchell, and brother Eric Mitchell.
Mark joined the Army at 18 where he served in the Military Police at Ft. Hood, TX. When he left the
Army, he went to UMass Amherst and received a mechanical engineering degree. He started his career at
General Electric in Pittsfield, MA and while there also earned a Master of Business Administration
degree. He then moved to CA to work as an independent contractor. He and a partner later moved to
Garden City, SC where they built and ran Maze Mania. After selling the Maze business he worked for
himself as a property developer for many years.
Mark was an avid sports fan who loved watching all sports but especially enjoyed following the New
England Patriots. He enjoyed spending time with friends, walking on the beach, reading a good book, and
traveling. He was an animal lover, as well as a great storyteller. He will be dearly missed by his many
loyal lifelong friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Cooper House & Event Center, 6011 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle
Beach, SC 29588, on June 28th at 4:00pm.
