Merle VanOsdol

Merle Alan Van Osdol passed away on March 10, 2020 at the age of 79 years old. He went in peace from his residence in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. God called him home by natural causes. As a veteran of the Army, he served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He attended the University of Illinois where he studied accounting & psychology.  Professionally, he practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in Pittsburgh PA, where he had three children, David, Gregg and Karin with his previous wife, Barbara. Merle had seven grandchildren and a devoted sister, Karen Phellps. 

As a resident of South Carolina, for over 28 years, he met his loving partner Sarah Gallant. He had a great sense of humor, deep intellect and a love of philosophy. He will be deeply missed. Merle will be honored and buried at the National Cemetery in Florence, South Carolina.  The date was scheduled for March 23, 2020, but has been postponed at this time.
