Michael Johnston left us on August 23, 2024, due to a metastatic cancer diagnosis that he received only three short months before his passing. His beloved husband Steven Cipullo and daughter Tinkerbell were by his side as he passed.

Michael's life was filled with passion for everything he did, and he spread joy and beauty everywhere he went. From his years of floral arranging for both private and commercial clients with Roy White Flowers as well as decorating homes with flair and panache for the design firm A Matter of Taste. Michael was an artist that could transform any space into a thing of beauty. He worked for many years behind the scenes in the pageant world, coaching contestants into winning crowns on the state, regional and national levels.

He was always happiest being of service to others and with his keen eye and attention to detail he helped many girls achieve their dreams.

Michael was that person with a gift for gab, and making friends and cultivating lasting relationships was his strong suit. He will be missed by many for being a light and often an inspiration and an example of gratitude. Even in his last weeks of discomfort and rapidly declining health, he expressed that he was so lucky to have found the love of his life, to have a home he loved at the beach and to have lived a full and blessed life.

Michael is survived by his beloved husband Steve and daughter Tinkerbell, his younger brother Tim and brother-in-law Peter. 

Michael is now reunited in heaven with his parents Homer and Judy Johnston.
