Norma was born August 3, 1937, in Atlanta Georgia. As a child, she explored Atlanta by bus to downtown Fox Theatre for Saturday matinees.

She graduated from Fulton County High School in 1955. During that year she met her soon to be husband, Anthony Higgins, and they married October 1, 1955. They had three children, Toni, Alan, and Julie., five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. 

Norma was a devoted wife to Anthony for 65 years, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed taking family camping trips all over the place, she had a green thumb, and was a great cook. 

She was a devote member of Amity Presbyterian Church, and belonged to the adult fellowship group called the Amiables, where with her husband she served on many committees. 

Norma had wonderful careers with Delta Air and at the Honeywell AC Division.
