Owen William Duboise Obituary

Owen “Beau” Duboise, age 80, of Loris, South Carolina, passed away on January 27, 2026.

Born on July 19, 1945, in Old Dock, North Carolina, Beau lived a life defined by hard work, fairness, and quiet wisdom. Over the years, he built a strong work ethic and was a man of integrity. He owned and manufactured portable storage buildings for 25 years, worked the flea market for 30 years, and completed his career in the restaurant equipment industry.

Beau had a deep love for horses. He and his wife, Kathy, shared a horse farm where he boarded and sold horses—a place that reflected his passion, dedication, and appreciation for honest labor and the outdoors. Beau lived his life as a true man: working hard and fair, supporting his family, and generously sharing life’s lessons and wisdom with those around him throughout his life and career.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Duboise; his son, William Doug Duboise; and daughters, Shawnn Harker-Reynolds and Dawnn Kassis (Chris). He is also survived by his much-loved grandchildren: Ashley, Austin, Christopher, Trenton, Drew, Cayden, and Kash, as well as his brother, Charlie Duboise.

Beau was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Edna Duboise, and his sister, Faye Duboise.

There will be no official funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice, honoring Beau’s love for animals, horses, and the life he lived.

Go rest high on that mountain
