Phillip Michael Smith

Phillip Michael Smith of Longs, SC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2022.  He passed away Peacefully at home with family by his side after a short illness.

Mike was born in Greensboro, NC on November 19, 1947.  He was a Navy Veteran with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.  Mike had a great sense of humor, loved playing golf with his friends and spending time with his family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Inez Smith and his siter, Mary Ann Hopkins.

Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Cox Smith; sons: Phillip M. Smith, Jr. (Kimberly) and Joseph H. Smith; grandchildren: Brett Smith (April), Shauna Smith, Rylee Smith, Haven Ringer and three great-grandchildren; siblings: Vera Edmondson, Orion Smith and Raymond Smith (Darlene) along with many much-loved nieces and nephews.  There were also three children he loved and thought of as grandchildren: Matthew Leonard, Alec Aldridge, and Jayce Nguyen.

A memorial service will be held at Sure Foundation Baptist Church, Randleman, NC., on January 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will follow the service.
