Raymond Victor Martin, 81 of Conway, South Carolina, formerly of Alexandria, Ohio passed away to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, on August 15, 2024, at Conway Medical Center. Raymond was born to the late Wallace and Elizabeth (Betty) Martin of Pataskala, Ohio.
He grew up on the family farm in Franklin County, Ohio, and remained an avid farmer/gardener until his death. He worked for the Kroger Company for over 20 years using his farming experience to identify sources of fresh produce for the Kroger stores. In addition to gardening, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing and traveling throughout his life. He moved to South Carolina after retiring from the Kroger Company.
Raymond was pre-deceased by his parents, first wife, Bessie (Wheeler) Martin, and Brothers: Wallace Martin, Jr., and Lynne Martin. A sister-in -law Bonnie Martin, niece, Amanda Brinson, and nephew Michael Martin. He later remarried to Marlene (Kelchner) Dool.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Martin; Siblings Samuel (Teresa) Martin of Santa Fe, Texas, Thomas (Cheryl) Martin of Port Charlotte, Florida, Carol Love (Mark Triplett) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Darlene (Rich) Brinson of Johnstown, Ohio. Over the past 15 years, Raymond was a loving husband to Marlene, and stepfather to Marlene's 7 children, 17 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Raymond and Marlene were active members of Oakey Swamp Baptist Church in Conway South Carolina. Raymond was a devoted servant to Jesus Christ, and a loving servant as a caregiver to many over the years to include his surviving wife, Marlene. Raymond was a good and faithful servant and will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
