Renée Cathleen Brown Hamilton, 48, of Loris, SC, previously of Washington, departed this Earth, for eternal rest, on Friday, August 5, 2022.
She was born, in New Castle, on February 25, 1974, a daughter of William Brown, Sr. and Joyce (Zeddy) Harris Stevens. Graduating from the Lawrence County Votech, Renée attended the New Castle Beauty Academy becoming a certified cosmetologist.
The Lord was the ultimate light of Renée’s life. She exhibited an inherent passion, for prayer, and encouraged everyone to forge a meaningful relationship with Christ. Throughout her illness, Renée remained a valiant warrior.
Faith was as significant to Renée as family and friends were, and she cherished the moments she was able to spend with them. Known for her love of seafood and soul food, she was skilled in crocheting and quilting. Music remained a mainstay in the Hamilton household, with Shirley Murdock’s “In Your Eyes” summarizing the tie(s) that united Renée and her husband and Zapp’s “Doo Wa Ditty (Blow That Thing)” becoming her favorite party record. Purple remained royal, for Renée, and its luminous shade was a staple in her attire.
On April 14, 1996, she married Jeffrey C. Hamilton, who survives.
In addition to her husband and parents, Renée is survived by children, James M. Hamilton of Washington and Tayanna (Gary) R. Lones of Nemacolin; grandchildren, Payton Lones, Arianna Abbott, Bailey Lones, and Sydni Lones; siblings, Cecily Teasley of Pittsburgh, William Brown, Jr., Natalie Brown, Eric Brown, and Gregory Brown, of New Castle; nephews and nieces, Demetrius Brown, Myiesha Artis, Jayla Brown, Naim Wright, Nijah Wright, Jaydaya Brown, Zyer Brown, Daniel Brown, Gregory Brown, and Eric Brown, Jr.; and an array of extended family.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service, at 10:30a, in the Fresh Wind Ministries, 2009 North Mercer Street, New Castle, PA 16105, with Pastor Alonzo L. Waters officiating.
A second memorial service will be held, at 10:30a, at the Blainesburg Bible Church, 104 4th Boulevard, Brownsville, PA 15417, with Pastor Frank Menhart officiating.
Following both services, meals will be provided.
