Rev. Lamar H. Handwerk,86, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025.  Born in Slatington, PA, he was the son of the late David Handwerk and Mildred Kern Handwerk.

Rev. Handwerk's most important job was his pastoral duties.  He became an ordained minister on May 12, 1974, and he served as pastor to: St. Peters United Church of Christ Seemsville, Lower Saucon United Church of Christ, Zion U.C.C. Stroudsburg, and Harford Congregational U.C.C.

Lamar was in many group affiliations including, Odd Fellows, Stroudsburg Rotary, Lower Saucon Lions, Hellertown Library Board, Pocono Chaplain Services, and various Penn Northeast Minister Conference Committees. He enjoyed fishing, flea marketing, and collecting Santa's.  

Rev. Handwerk is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Daisy Mae Andrews Handwerk; daughter, Natalie West and her husband, Mark; sons, Kevin Handwerk and his wife, Carol, and Steven Handwerk and his wife, Donna.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
